What does Óroux mean?

It is a coined word combining the words Oro meaning gold and Roux meaning redhead with a wink and nod to my Irish heritage with the Ó.  So it basically means golden redhead or ginger.

Welcome to your new home, Óroux.

Redheads have their own challenges with their fair, sensitive skin.  We are constantly running from the sun, feeling left out in society and completely ignored by the beauty industry as a whole.

Often teased, bullied and made to feel 'weird and different' or simply standing out when we wish would just blend in sometimes...  With our freckles, pale skin, hair that constantly looks like we're on fire- being a kid as a redhead can be plain awful for some.

I see you and feel you! As a child I hated my red hair and freckles. I wanted a name people could pronounce- and spell- in the USA. But once you finally learn to embrace your fire and see the beauty in it- you will come to value that you are truly rare, unique and one of a kind! And here, you will always be loved, valued and seen for the beauty that you are!

After seven years of creating skincare, I created Óroux Skin for you! I wanted my fellow redheads and gingers (and our other pale, fair skinned clan) to feel like they had a brand that finally understood and was made just for them.

And yes, while our skincare will work wonders for other pale, fair, freckled and sensitive skin types too, I made this with you in mind.  From my heart,  I want you to know how much I understand and value you.  I want you to feel so beautiful (handsome) and loved! So thank you for being here.  I hope you will stay and feel at home here.
